Journalism experience will give you skills that put you ahead in nearly every field, including: medicine, law, research, business, writing, and policy. Scouting interviews is the most personal, demanding type of research. Editing gives you creative edge and teaches you concise communication skills in a fast-paced world.
Applications are posted on this site at the beginning of each quarter.
We have open positions in the following areas:
Reporting. The bread and butter of making news. With a digital recorder (provided) you will collect the bites for your story and edit them to make your piece. You will go through two official trainings, plus hands-on training, while working on your first stories. As an intern, you get airtime and will begin releasing stories your third week. NO experience is necessary!
Marketing. If you are interested in a career in business, the administrative side of marketing is just for you. UCLAradio.com News and the Daily Bruin are the only student opportunities on campus that demand the level of branding and product distribution seen in real business.
Internships may be combined (though this would be a very hefty load). They are listed in descending order of time commitment.
